Executive financial dashboard for a multi-entity engineering group
Two South African operating companies sit under the same shareholders and trade in three countries. Management needed one view of the group that the bank could be shown.
The problem
Figures were compiled by hand from PDF bank statements. Treasury sweeps between accounts were counted as both income and expenditure, overstating gross cash flow several times over.
What was built
- A statement parser for two bank layouts, with every line accounted for and reconciled to R0.00 before import
- Duplicate detection across overlapping statement periods
- Automatic pairing of internal transfers, with a review queue for anything uncertain
- A twelve-module executive dashboard that suppresses any figure it cannot defend
